Ryan's a Class of 2021 Senior at Webster Thomas High School and a varsity lacrosse player. He and his mom wanted to incorporate his love of the game with his senior portrait session. With the luck of mother nature, we ended up with perfect weather and a stunning sunset to create some truly memorable images.

We started out next to the high school stadium at Willink Middle School which offered some interesting backdrops that we took advantage of for the regular part of the session. Then we made our way over to Titan Stadium where we set up portrait lighting for stills and action shots and finished up with some sunset portraits. Ryan was patient as we worked through various "moves" and portraits so I had plenty of images to work with in creating a unique, customized montage for his lacrosse art piece. The result was exactly what they were hoping for and the framed final product exceeded their expectations in every way.

I've loved working with this family! In fact, I got to photograph Ryan's older brother Nathan for his senior portraits in 2019. Check out his session HERE.

Ryan's future plans are to attend Roberts Wesleyan College to study Business Administration and play lacrosse. I wish you all the best, Ryan, as you begin the next phase of your life and thank you to you and your family for choosing Hayes Photography!!!

My daughter, Sarah, played lacrosse for the Webster Thomas High School JV Girls team this year.  As I do for all her sports, I diligently stand on the sidelines shooting frame after frame of the action.  I had well over a thousand images by the end of the season, including a few games of the varsity team.  I was a bit rusty to start out with, but after a game or two, I got into a grove and was really pleased with the results.  Shooting sports is tough and if you don't shoot a lot then you really have a hard time with focus, following the action, anticipating the moves.  Rarely are the conditions just right.  I've shot in 40 degree cold, wind and rain (even some snow), at night and in a stadium where the action is in full sun and then shade.  The challenges are great, but when you get that great shot, it makes it all worthwhile.  Here's a handful of my favorites from the 2013 season.
